Undereye Fillers: Procedure, Types, Benefits And Cost In India

Under Eye Fillers

It may happen to you that your eyes look tired even if you have slept properly. If it happens once in a while, it’s fine but if it is every day’s call, you need to take a step for it. If you are stressed, have high screen time or are unable to sleep properly, you may get dark circles.

This condition worsens with age and we start becoming conscious about our appearance. It can be hidden temporarily using concealers and eye creams but if you want lasting results, under eye fillers, also known as tear trough fillers, are an amazing alternative for you.

What Are Under Eye Fillers?

Under eye filler is a non-surgical treatment for hollow under eyes. It corrects the appearance of tired-looking eyes by injecting a gel-like substance into certain areas around and under the eyes. It brings back the lost volume that leads to an overall under eye rejuvenation. Hyaluronic acid fillers fill in hollow areas and bring back life to the almost dead under eyes.

The tear trough fillers are a highly effective dark circles treatment and leave you with brighter eyes instantly. This can’t treat hollow under eyes caused by all the reasons but if it’s due to genetics or aging, under eye fillers make the under eyes voluminous and brighten them.

Benefits of Choosing Under Eye Fillers

Under-eye filler injections are popular for obvious reasons, the major ones are mentioned below.

  • Reduce dark circles

This is the primary objective of anyone going for this cosmetic treatment. Tear trough fillers treat the hollow under eyes along with the visibility of dark circles by adding volume to it.

  • Hydrate the under-eye area

The major component of these fillers is hyaluronic acid which is highly efficient and effective in retaining moisture and hydrating skin. These fillers ultimately improve skin texture and smooth wrinkles.

  • More youthful appearance

The under-eye area can lose volume due to any factor that may leave you with a tiring look. Under eye fillers fill the under eye bags, diminish under eye puffiness and give a lifted and refreshed appearance.

  • Provide natural-looking results

These fillers mainly contain hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance present in the skin. Moreover, if these are filled by an experienced practitioner, the under-eye fillers give natural-looking results without being overfilled.

  • Customization

Everyone’s under-eye area is different and so are their concerns. In this treatment, an individual’s skin and concern are assessed, treatment is sorted and their personalized goals for periorbital rejuvenation are attained.

  • Minimal downtime

Since the tear trough fillers are minimally invasive, these don’t have downtime as surgery involves. The patients will get age-defying results with minimal discomfort and without hampering the daily routine just after the treatment.

  • Quick procedure and lasting results

The procedure may take as little as 15 minutes and sometimes, may take an hour or so. It all depends on certain factors including the type of filler used. The results are also instantaneous, lasting for months and at times, for a year. Periodic maintenance is required to maintain the effects though.

  • Improve the overall personality

The periorbital rejuvenation gives the person a lifted and refreshed appearance that certainly increases their self-esteem and confidence. They would start loving themselves all the way more.

How do fillers work to rejuvenate and brighten the under-eye area?

Hyaluronic acid is very crucial for healthy skin but we tend to lose it as we age and that results in the formation of wrinkles and eye bags. Most of the under eye fillers contain hyaluronic acid gel as the main ingredient which is injected under the skin below the eyes.

The hyaluronic acid fillers help in volume restoration, rejuvenate the skin, fill in hollow areas and give it a plump and smoothing effect. These fillers integrate the fills very well with the skin, improve skin texture, make the eyes brighter, rejuvenate you and smooth wrinkles.

Types of Under eye fillers

The four types of under eye fillers are explained below.

  • Hyaluronic acid

It is a natural substance present in the body. Hyaluronic acid fillers are made of a synthetic gel that imitates this substance. Lidocaine is also an ingredient that is added to some of the types of hyaluronic acid fillers. These fillers are transparent, easy to blend and provide the most natural look but give the shortest result (9 months to 1 year).

  • Poly-L-lactic acid

This is a synthetic and biocompatible material which is injected by a process known as linear threading. This helps in promoting collagen production, hence dealing with the under-eye issues. Results last quite long (as long as 2 years).

  • Calcium hydroxylapatite

This filler is made of phosphate and calcium. It is thicker than hyaluronic acid and hence, is diluted before injecting. This also promotes collagen production and adds volume to the area. It lasts for over a year (up to 18 months).

  • Fat transfer

In case of intense hollow under eyes, own fat, majorly from thighs, buttocks, abdomen or hips, is taken and injected into the desired place. It lasts the longest, as long as 3 years.

Ideal Candidates for Under Eye Fillers

Tear trough fillers don’t work for every type of hollow under eyes. Only those people who fall in the below-mentioned categories are ideal candidates for under eye fillers.

  • Those who have dark circles, caused by normal loss of fats or volume or midface descent.
  • Those who are not prone to swelling and puffiness under the eyes.
  • Those who have not lost huge volume in the mid-face area.
  • Those who have good under-eye skin quality and elasticity.
  • Those who don’t have extra skin sagging or puffiness under the eyes.
  • Those who have normal to deep dark circles or wrinkles.
  • Those who are not deeply allergic.
  • Those who do not smoke.
  • Those who have hollow under eyes due to aging or genetics and not lifestyle factors.
  • Those who have certain specific problems that sustain a particular area and not the whole face.

Under eye filler treatment procedure

  • The doctor will assess your face and under your eyes and sterilize it.
  • A numbing cream is applied to the under eyes and wait for a few minutes to let it absorb.
  • A small needle will be used to pierce the skin. The doctor will fill in the filler using a needle or cannula in those piercings.
  • One or more injections will be injected under each eye to give a symmetrical look.
  • This filler will be smoothed out by the doctor properly.

PS- In case of fat transfer, the person will first undergo liposuction to remove fats under general anesthesia.

Under eye fillers cost in India

The cost of under eye fillers depends on a lot of factors like type and amount of filler, the experience of the cosmetologist, the age of the patient, the reputation and location of the clinic and follow-up treatment and appointments.

In India, this price ranges from INR 20,000 to 50,000 whereas at Sakhiya, it starts merely from INR 30,500.
