Laser Tattoo Removal – Giving people a fresh start

Yeahh..Tattoo!!!! From a long time, we have thought that once we make tattoo and that’s it – the image or words are there for life. They seem like a lifelong commitment. Once we make it, it’s harder to forget them.

Well, we’ve got a good news for you that is, Laser tattoo removal. Now, a tattoo doesn’t have to be a life sentence. Lasers were employed to remove tattoos entirely

It is a relatively quick and safe procedure that will leave your skin tattoo-free. First thing we have to know that what is tattoo removal? Tattoo removal is the process of getting an area of permanently injected ink removed from a section of skin on the body. Anybody wishing to have a tattoo removed before this time will have been stuck with their ink until the day they died.

Laser tattoo removal – How it works?

Tattoos consist of thousands of particles of tattoo pigment suspended in the skin. When we make tattoo, our body recognizes those ink particles as foreign objects and sends white blood cells to break ink particles and eliminate them. But, the fact is that those ink particles are so much larger and these white blood cells are powerless against them. Because ink particles are tough stuff, it takes something as strong as a laser to get rid of them. Laser treatment causes tattoo pigment particles to heat up and fragment into smaller pieces. These smaller pieces are then removed by normal body processes. Q-switched lasers produce bursts of infrared light at specific frequencies that target a particular spectrum of colour in the tattoo ink. The laser passes through the upper layers of the skin to target a specific pigment in the lower layers. Still, for tattoo removal the laser doesn’t work alone. Those white blood still work hard. Once the laser breaks the ink down into smaller pieces, the white blood cells grab them and carry them to the liver so they can be flushed out along with other foreign objects and toxins in your body.

Parameters that affect the result:

  •  Age of the Tattoo:

Time duration is to be considered for the tattoo how old tattoo Removal. How old the tattoo mark is according to that treatment is to be planned.

  • Location of the Tattoo

Tattoo near our head and neck respond faster to laser sessions compared to tattoo over distal extremities due to better lymphatic drainage.

  • Colour of the Tattoo

For laser tattoo removal the selective destruction of tattoo pigments depends on three factors:

1) Depth of the tattoo: The colour of the light must enter sufficiently deep into the skin to reach the tattoo pigment.

2) Colour of the tattoo: The colour of the laser light must be more absorbed by the tattoo pigment than the surrounding skin. Also, different tattoo pigments require different laser wavelenght.

3) Surrounding Skin colour: The time duration (pulse duration) of the laser energy must be very short, so that the tattoo pigment is heated to fragments, before its heat can dissipate to the surrounding skin, sufficient energy must be delivered during each laser pulse to heat the pigment to break up.

  • Can You Re-Tattoo Over a Lasered Area?

Well, you don’t need to worry. You can still get a tattoo on any skin surface that you have lasered. In fact, many people get a tattoo lasered precisely because they want to re-tattoo over that area. As we saw above, laser removal works by breaking down and getting rid of the ink particles in your skin. So, there’s no reason you can’t get a new tattoo and inject new pigments into those clear spots once those particles have been cleared out.
